Art Classes for Kids

Over the duration of the course Miss Heidi will guide the young artists through exercises in various forms of artworks. She will help them explore the skills, process, and creative aspects of these forms to give the young artists the opportunity to discover which form of artwork most inspires and delights them.

Painting – The most popular and traditional form of artworks. Colourful and entertaining, the young artists can have fun creating colourful and artworks that represent something in their daily life while learning about the function of colours, tone, developing story through pictures, and evelving their own self-expression.

Sculpture – Through the act of building 3D pieces of art through sculpture the young artists will explore new skills that will engage not only their mind and creative processes, but also their physical skills. Through the process of sculpting and building artworks, they young artists will also develop the fine motor skills and dexterity of using their hands to build small objects. This combination of concentration, dexterity and fine motor skill development, and creative exploration all happen simultaneously whilst enjoying the process of creating a beautiful sculpture.

Sketching – Through the act of drawing and sketching the young artists can develop motor skills whilst understanding important elements of art such as lighting and tone. Coincidently it can help kids understand that you don’t necessarily need paints and brushes to be able to produce a beautiful piece of artwork.
